BNM ONTIER announces three new partners

BNM ONTIER, venezuelan partner of the international firm ONTIER, announced today that it has elected three new partners, effective January 1, 2015. With this selection, there are seven partners in ONTIER BNM.

The partners have experience in a broad range of practice areas, including: tax and estate planning, public procurement and contracting, corporate governance, mergers & acquisitions, and real estate projects. The three lawyers have completed graduate studies in Tax and Public Finance Law in Universidad Catolica Andres Bello, one of them is a Professor of Tax Law at Universidad Metropolitana, and they speak Spanish, English, Portuguese and French.

The new partners are:

Katherine De Bastos: She joined BNM ONTIER in 2004. Her expertise centers on corporate, financial and tax law, with special emphasis in national and international transactions, as well as in contracts with the government and foreign investment. She has assisted national and international companies in the process of forming the legal basis of their business in Venezuela, including the analysis of the tax implications according to national laws by making an adequate tax planning.

Alejandro Sosa: He joined BNM ONTIER in 2006. Previously he worked as a legal assistant at a well-know local firm with an international practice (2003-2006), where he worked for the corporate, labor and litigation departments. He has worked in national and international transactions, as well as in contracts with the government and in foreign investment. He has focused his practice in the corporate, tax and financial areas. He has assisted national and international companies in the process of forming the legal basis and analyzing the tax implications of their business in Venezuela.

Oscar H. Velutini: He joined BNM ONTIER in 2009. Previously he worked as a legal assistant at another well-known local firm, in the corporate and tax departments. He has advised clients of the firm on local and international corporate and business taxation legal matters, including mergers and acquisitions, the formation and structuring of legal entities, foreign investment and commercial agreements. He has worked on transactions involving public sector companies and has focused his practice in corporate and tax matters. Mr. Velutini is professor at Universidad Metropolitana, where he is currently teaching Tax Law.
